REMS andThe Use of Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agents in Cancer and Related Neoplastic Conditions

Are you familiar with REMS (Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategy) ?   REMS is utilized to decrease risk (increase safety) in the ordering and dispensing of certain drugs.  In a recent decision by the FDA, ESA's will be mandated to be ordered and dipensed under a REMS.  A new oncology program, APPRISE ( Assisting Providers and Cancer Patients with Risk Information for Safe Use of ESA's) has been developed to assist with this new mandate. For more information refer to the following links.

Does your facility offer transportation assistance to outpatient oncology treatments?
The lack of transportation can lead to difficulties with patients completing their recommended oncology treatment. Some facilities offer transportation assistance to treatment appointments to their patients.
1. We provide transportation for our patients.
2. Transportation is provided as a joint venture by an outside agency and our facility.
3. An outside agency provides transportation for our patients.
4. There is no transportation assistance availabe for our patients.
